Call Center Representative Overview:
Portlands largest hospital is seeking an experienced Call Center Representative to join their team This position is in the Information Technology Group and acts as a critical component to the success and operational efficiency of the mass call processing center. Representatives must be able to multi:task, anticipate customer needs, and thrive in this very fast:paced and high:volume environment.

Call Center Representative Responsibilities:
Call Center Representative utilizes CTI, five:digit dialing, and private paging systems in providing quality communication services to the hospital community and its patrons
Efficiently, politely, professionally answer a high volume of incoming calls from on and off campus and route calls to appropriate conclusion (clinic, department, hospital, doctor, administration or research areas) by connecting, paging or supplying number.
The Call Center Representative will provide information to callers, including directions, addresses and hours of operation and use schedules and departmental procedures to locate appropriate on:call person for internal and external callers
Maintain, with the highest degree of accuracy the database for, on:call schedules, directory information (individual and departmental), and paging profiles.
Change/check status/referral of pagers including forwarding calls from one pager to another and blocking pagers for vacations, in:surgery, unavailable, etc.
Research and update incorrect departmental, clinic, on:call or individual entries on the directory and paging systems : Maintain directory system with rotating resident and intern specialties.
Miscellaneous duties include providing requested wake:up service for on:duty personnel in sleep rooms, maintaining adequate supplies for call center stations, the activation and deactivation of patient telephones, and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Lead Representative or department management.
Answering, coordination and communication of numerous emergency procedures
The Call Center Representative will use tools and applications to perform services to the hospital community and its customers, i.e. confirmation calls, marketing campaign
registrations/information, general information requests regarding studies, services, clinics, and programs.

Call Center Representative Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED and 1:year experience in a mass call processing center or 2 years of heavy volume, multi:phone use environment is required.
Accurate and expedient typing of at least 35 WPM with 100 accuracy is required.
Experience with Windows and/or PC based software systems is required.
Experience in a hospital or medical setting is highly desired.
Experience with automated directory or paging system is highly desired.
