The Chief Iinformation Officer (CIO) is accountable for all information technology (IT) operations across the enterprise and is responsible for developing and implementing a technology strategy that meets PeaceHealth's short and long:term objectives. Acts as the primary consultant to PeaceHealth on future trends in technology and assists in identifying opportunities for PeaceHealth to leverage technology to promote clinical excellence while acting as an effective steward of resources. As the leader of Technology Solutions Partners, the CIO ensures that the division is effectively organized, resourced to deliver strategic and operational goals, and provides a supportive partnership for services and solutions.
:Develops and successfully implements and maintains an effective information systems technology infrastructure, operations and knowledge decision support strategy that aligns with PeaceHealth goals and objectives. Ensures that technology needs adapt to organizational imperatives.
:Effectively collaborates with Chief Medical Information Officer and other key stakeholders to support the on:going development, implementation and enhancements of the PeaceHealth electronic health record, CareConnect (Epic).
:Accountable for advising and partnering with PeaceHealth leadership to provide technology, services, and solutions in areas of advanced technology, information management, data and systems security, medical informatics and decision support so that technology acquisition, implementation and maintenance is included in tactical and long:range planning.
:Responsible for effective technology planning so that security and service delivery of IT systems meets organizational goals and external compliance needs. Identifies and secures resources to support all IT delivery. This includes effective collaboration with System Vice President of Organizational Integrity, Chief Information Security Officer, and other leaders supporting the security and privacy of technology.
:Develops an information systems structure that adapts to the needs of the organization while maximizing standard, best practices and future trends, so that technology supports safe and evidence:based care in all PeaceHealth facilities.
:Effectively collaborates with key stakeholders in the organization to ensure that technology planning and delivery meet organization goals to include all patient safety goals.
:Responsible for development, implementation and monitoring of effective internal general controls, policies and procedures to govern information technology access, use, and change.
:Partner with enterprise project management office to lead TSP governance processes, including evaluation and communication.
:Ensures that programs are in place to effectively educate providers on the opportunities for technology adoption and effective use to promote positive patient outcomes and deliver value.
:Serves on a variety of internal and external committees to both advise and plan for the evolution of technology in fulfillment of the PeaceHealth mission.
:Other duties as assigned.
:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, healthcare or related field required.
:Master's degree in Business Administration, Informatics, Health Administration or related field strongly preferrred.
:Minimum of 10 years of experience in senior Information Technology roles is required. Previous experience as a Chief Information Officer in a complex healthcare system is preferred.
